The real reason Republicans are blocking unemployment benefits

The Republicans have been blocking unemployment extensions, claiming that they won’t vote for anything that’s not paid for.  The lie is made obvious when they also want to cut taxes for the rich- unpaid for, of course.  The following graph is a picture of presidential disapproval (in red) and unemployment rates (in blue).  The match-up is uncanny:

I don’t know why our media isn’t reporting on it, but this is a fairly transparent attempt to sabotage the President through obstruction.  Nothing new for the Republicans, but this effort appears to be working.  The President and the Democrats need to be more aggressive in articulating what the GOP is doing, why it’s doing it, and how they can help.
